NGC's employer-side litigation practice

Employer-side employment litigation is a significant portion of Nicola, Gudbranson & Cooper's overall practice. We have numerous lawyers with the expertise to defend large corporations as well as small- to medium-size businesses in all aspects of employment litigation, including state and federal discrimination claims over age, race, gender, disability, religion and other issues.

Our lawyers have experience defending employers over accusations such as sexual harassment, workplace bullying and wrongful discharge, asserting protection of trade secrets and enforcement of non-compete agreements.

NGC has substantial experience in all aspects of employment litigation, including motion, discovery, trial and appellate practice. We bring to the employer the know-how of procedure in state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. When appropriate, we represent employers in the private mediation of workplace disputes. We also have a very robust employer-side workers' compensation defense practice.

Clients can rely on our counsel for a wide range of other employment matters, such as employee handbooks; classification of employees (employee versus independent contractor) under the Fair Labor Standards Act; preventative employment counseling designed to avoid wrongful termination/discrimination claims; and reduction-in-force issues.

Our skilled attorneys are available for these and other employment litigation needs. Contact your lawyer at NGC at (216) 621-7227 to arrange an initial consultation.
